Barcelona Sights, Sounds and Hotels

Parque Güell, Palacio Güell and Casa Mila in Barcelona were designed by Antonio Gaudí, who died in Barcelona in 1929 at the age of 74, and are certainly universal if one looks at the varied cultural sources that were their inspiration. Barcelona is such a beautiful city, and the buildings of Gaudí give it certain added flavour. They symbolize an eclectic style which is also very personal and which was given boundless reign in the fields of architecture, gardens, sculpture and every form of ornamental art. The curves and mosaic work that are typical of Gaudi are in full evidence in all details all over the park. Of all the works Antonio Gaudi left to the city of Barcelona, the Güell Park and Palace and Mila House reached the World Heritage List. Initially proposed to be an English style garden city, this is today a terrific place to feast your eyes on Barcelona from up high facing towards the sea.

These are not the only wonders however, there is happily more of Gaudi’s works in Barcelona and Spain that wait for your discovery. Remember to have a look at some of the first rate Barcelona Hotels and arrange creditable accommodation, and maybe also check out the Barcelona shopping scene.
