Dublin Sights, Sounds and Hotels
Ireland’s oldest university, dating from 1592, and its sole college, Trinity College, stands in Dublin. Most of the buildings on the 40 acres of Trinity’s grounds were constructed in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The recently restored West Front was built between 1755 and 1759 and features a classical Corinthian portico. The cobbled quadrangle of Parliament Square as you enter the grounds is dominated by the Campanile, or Bell Tower, which was erected in 1853. Of interest is that Dublin’s Trinity College was where the popular 1983 movie Educating Rita was filmed.
Dublins's Trinity College is worth the visit, even if only for the 40 acres of green spaces and cobbled squares. Dublin city is a truly unique place that you will fall in love with, so it's best that you book accommodation in one of the fine Dublin hotels as soon as you can.
