London Sights, Sounds and Hotels
The Houses of Parliament is London's finest Victorian building and is in fact the Palace of Westminster, but known by whatever name, it is London's most famous monument. It is best viewed from the south side of the river, and is most impressive by night when the ornate gilded clock tower "Big Ben" is illuminated. Visits can be arranged to sit in on the debates in Commons, which can be very raucous but entertaining. Phone your MP if you are a citizen or your Embassy if you are a tourist to arrange a tour.
