Rome Sights, Sounds and Hotels
The Pantheon is a stand-alone phenomenon of architectural synchronization and dimension which was first built in 27 B.C. by Augustus's general Agrippa as a temple to Mars, Venus and other gods. The extremely sizeable dome, cupola, is open to the sky, where the only natural light enters and allows the soft mist to settle. Once through the original bronze doors, one can observe the identical proportions of the diameter of the building's circular walls and the height of the dome, as well as the boxed ceiling construction. The walls of the most well-preserved monument of Imperial Rome, approximately twenty feet thick, have been reconstructed several times to perform as fortifications of a pagan temple, church, and mausoleum.
There is, of course, much more to learn about Rome’s Pantheon and of more of the sites and sounds of Rome. Why not pack your suitcase, arrange comfortable accommodation in one of the elite Rome hotels and allow yourself to be transported by the sheer magic and history of Rome city.
